Wanita June (Moulder) Cowen, daughter of Howard Valentine and Lillie (DeGraffenreid) Moulder, was born March 10, 1936 in Macks Creek, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, two months, and eight days. Wanita was preceded in death by her parents; a son who was still born; a great-granddaughter, Faith Marie McKinnon; two brothers, L.Z. and Donald Moulder; and the father of her children, George William “Johnny” Cowen. She is survived by her children, Vera Byler and husband J.C., of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Teresa Cowen and companion Edward, of Linn Creek, Missouri; four grandchildren, William McKinnon and wife Katie, of Camdenton, Missouri, Matthew McKinnon of Camdenton, Missouri, Randal Cowen and wife Ashley of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Nicole Byler of Camdenton, Missouri; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Moulder, of Macks Creek, Missouri, Jimmy Moulder and wife Katie, of Knob Noster, Missouri, and Jackie Moulder and wife Jo, of Macks Creek, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Wanita spent her younger years living in Macks Creek and attended Dry Ridge and Mill Elementary Schools and later Macks Creek High School. She later moved to Camdenton and started her career at Blair Cedar and Novelty Works where she was employed for over thirty years and retired in 2006. She was saved at the age of sixteen in the Assembly of God Church in Macks Creek and was a member of the Big Niangua Missionary Baptist Church in Roach. In her spare time, Wanita enjoyed bowling, working in her flower garden, canning and traveling. She truly cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wanita was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, MIssouri. Burial will follow in Parrack Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the funeral home from 5-7:00 pm. Memorial donations may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home at 15 Clint Ave, Camdenton, MO 65020.
