WILDA JEAN SHIPMAN Wilda Jean Shipman, daughter of Leonard Rosco and Della Francis George Shipman, was born, January 16, 1929 in the Freedom area of Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life, Sunday, July 29, 2007 in her home in Linn Creek, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, six months and thirteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John David Moore; a great-granddaughter; three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include three sons, Cecil Moore and Betty of Wyanet, Illinois, Jim Moore and Valerie of Osage Beach, Missouri and Michael McGuire of Jefferson City, Missouri; two daughters, Barbara McDaniel of Highland, Michigan and Janet Moore of Camdenton, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister Wilma Edwards and husband Harley of Raytown, Missouri; a sister-in-law and best friend, Norma Scrivner; three step-daughters; seven step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wilda was raised in the Freedom area and lived most of her life in Camden County. She worked as a waitress in many restaurants in the area and retired from Gerbes as a baker. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Freedom Church of Christ for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and had made a quilt for almost everyone in her family. She also enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizens Clubs, Country and Western Music, television, puzzles and games and showing people her family photo albums. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and attending many family gatherings. Wilda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We will treasure the memories she created and will miss her greatly. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 2, 2007 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Reverend Colleen Carroll and Brother Charles Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Tracy's House Hospice Care Center and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
