William “Bill” Michael Girard Sr., son of Irvin and Marion (Barth) Girard was born April 11, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, eleven months and ten days.
On November 12, 1960, Bill was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” Bauer, and to this union 4 children were born.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Stevie Ann Lain; and a brother, Harry Girard.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of the home; his children, Billy Girard and wife Brenda, of Macks Creek, Missouri, Shelley Lain and husband Steve, of Macks Creek, Missouri, Lisa Waters and Travis Kincaid, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Mark Girard and wife Stefanie, of Camdenton, Missouri; his grandchildren, Brent Girard and wife Courtney, Megan Schlipp and husband T.J., Taylor Lain and wife Mikayla, Chelsea Waters, Austin Waters, and Dylan Girard and wife Taylor; his great-grandchildren, Baylen, Drake, Maizy, Melody, Riley, Justin, Gage and Westin; two sisters, Dollie Austin of Florida, and Susie Keough of St. Louis, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Bill grew up in St. Louis and worked beside his father in the concrete construction industry for many years. He moved to the Lake area in 1968 and later owned and operated Bill Girard Concrete Construction for many years until his retirement. He and Sandy also operated the concession stand at the Camdenton City Ballpark for twenty-one years where they were known for their excellent cheeseburgers and good conversations.
He was a past member of the Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Club.
In his spare time Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and barbecuing. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many memories he has created for his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
