William Richard “Billy” Matthies, son of William & Mary (Bobb) Matthies, was born on August 22, 1986 and departed this life on March 1, 2020. At the time of his passing he was 33 years of age. Billy traveled the world as a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter. He earned two Golden Gloves, won a national championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was a member of the 2008 U.S.A Olympic team for Mixed Martial Arts. Although he was a devoted fighter, he had a soft and gentle heart for his family and animals. As a child he was always bringing home stray animals and even raised a deer with his mother. He loved to laugh and make others laugh by coming up with the wittiest comments in a moment’s notice. Above all he loved his family, especially his niece and nephew. Billy was preceded in passing by his brother, Hulan Matthies; his nephew, Jacob Lewis; two grandfathers, Arthur Bobb and Henry Matthies; and one aunt, Martha Matthies. He is survived by his girlfriend, Stracey Frahm; his parents, William (Mary) Matthies; his sister, Crystal Lewis; one niece, Lilyan Lewis; and one nephew, Tristan Lewis. He also leaves behind many other friends who will all truly miss him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri with Pastor Brandt officiating. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral of Camdenton, Missouri.
