WILMA WHITE Wilma Vivian White, daughter of William Harlan and Lena Augusta Porter Dixon, was born February 17, 1917, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, July 30, 2007, in Lake Regional Hospital, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, five months, and thirteen days. On August 31, 1935, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Curtis Ordie "Mike" White, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. Her parents preceded her in death. Wilma is survived by her husband of almost seventy-two years, Mike, of the home; a daughter, Mona Poole, and her husband, Rich, of Linn Creek, Missouri; two sons, Larry White, and his wife, Jeanne, of Midlothian, Virginia, and Eddie White, and his wife, Shirley, of Eldridge, Missouri; five grandchildren, Pam Viduszynski, and her husband, Joe, of Winfield, Missouri, Mike Smith, and his wife, Carol, of Wentzville, Missouri, Cathy Smith and husband Richard, of St. Louis, Missouri, Marty White, and his wife, Susan, of St. Peters, Missouri, and Lindsey Zuercher, and her husband, Josh, of Richmond, Virginia; eight great-grandchildren, Charles Willyard, Chantel Powell, Crystal Stadter, Rachel Stadter, Danielle Stadter, Allison White, Curtis White, and Molly White; three great-great-grandchildren, Steven and Autumn Powell, and Isabella Willyard; a brother, Leslie Dixon, and his wife, Grace, of Houston, Texas; a sister, Wanda Frein, of New Athens, Illinois; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in the Poplar Bluff area, and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School. In 1935, she and Mike were married and later made their home in St. Louis, Missouri, where they lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Wilma was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. In 1973, she and Mike moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed retirement life. Wilma made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton. She was a sports enthusiast and particularly enjoyed watching and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams. She and Mike greatly enjoyed traveling across the United States and had visited all but two of the fifty states. She also liked working crossword puzzles in her spare time. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Reverend Bob AuBuchon officiating. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
