In 1923 in Old Linn Creek, Missouri, Ms. Abbie Bankson opened the Bankson Funeral Home and served families in the old County seat there for six years until the formation of the Lake of the Ozarks came to light. In 1930 she moved her funeral home to the newly formed town and County seat of Camdenton and in 1932 renamed her establishment as Bankson-Woolery Funeral Home. Ms. Abbie proudly served the residents of Camdenton and the surrounding areas as the only funeral provider in Camdenton for thirty-four years, until 1955 when the Reed family purchased the establishment.

Upon the purchase, the Reed family built a new building on North Highway 5 under the name of Reed Funeral Home. The Reed family faithfully served the Camdenton community for over twenty-years until they sold the business to Mr. Dean Allee. Dean and Kathleen Allee expanded on the rich history of the establishment and cemented their place as the premier funeral service provider until they sold to the Howe family in July of 2000. For the last quarter-century, the staff of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home has worked diligently to maintain the history of excellence that was established so many years ago. We are proud of our history within Camden County and believe that it is our sole responsibility to serve the families that have entrusted us with their loved ones with the utmost care and respect, just as our predecessors have done.
